Dr Anne Woolridge

Bio:

Dr Anne Woolridge is Chief Operating Officer of ISSL, a technical consultancy, and has a wealth of research and practical experience of healthcare waste management and waste treatment processes at all levels. She is a practicing dangerous goods safety advisor and waste consultant as well as advising on waste strategy and policy and currently the Scientific Advisor on Waste for the UK Health Security Agency. She was instrumental in the classification of the waste from mass testing and the global vaccination programme.

She is the outgoing Chair of the International Solid Waste Association Healthcare Waste Working Group, Vice Chair of their Scientific and Technical Committee and a Member of the UK National Committee. Anne has an extensive publication record including contributions to WHO publications with respect to healthcare waste. She has given technical input to a number of national, international and multi-disciplinary teams to assist with the response to MERS, Ebola, Monkeypox, SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19.
